This deep red paint colour can be found in Hardwick Hall, a historical property in the care of the National Trust. A spectacular Elizabethan house, Hardwick Hall was built by the formidable ‘Bess of Hardwick’ in the late 1500s. After Queen Elizabeth I, Bess was the wealthiest woman in England and her house was filled with rich furnishings and tapestries. Within the house, a chapel contains rare wall hangings, painted with scenes from the life of St Paul, where this deep, earthy red repeatedly features.

Its washable nature instills confidence in its use on walls and radiators, and it is certified as child-safe.
Intelligent Eggshell
Little Greene’s Intelligent Eggshell is perfect for interior woodwork and walls, offering a subtle and sophisticated low-sheen of just 15%. Resistant to moisture, staining, and general wear and tear, this tough, fully-washable finish is suitable for kitchen or bathroom walls. It's also suitable for primed interior metalwork like radiators and pipework (using Intelligent ASP).
Intelligent Satinwood
Little Greene's Intelligent Satinwood is an ultra-tough, low maintenance satin finish suitable for all interior woodwork, including household joinery, skirting, doors, windows, kitchen cabinets, and wooden furniture. It offers a virtually odourless application, drying in two hours, and boasting a sheen level between 30-35%. Fully washable, environmentally friendly, and child-safe, it's a versatile choice for various surfaces.
Intelligent Exterior Eggshell
Little Greene’s Intelligent Exterior Eggshell, a quick-drying, water-based eggshell finish for exterior joinery. Requiring no separate primer on bare wood, it's suitable for all exterior woodwork and is self-priming on new and bare wood. This virtually odourless paint inhibits mould and algae growth, is weather-resistant, and washable, featuring a low sheen level of 15%.
Intelligent Gloss
Little Greene's Intelligent Gloss is a water-based, tough, quick-drying, high-sheen finish suitable for interior and exterior woodwork, plaster walls, and primed metals. Little Greene’s Intelligent ASP, an all-surface primer for use on wood, metal, and most building plastics, including PVC frames and doors.
